eCard S.A. was founded on March 20, 2000. Its founding shareholders were: BRE Bank S.A., Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. and ComputerLand S.A. Over the last 5 years, eCard S.A. has become an unrivaled leader on the internet payments market handling approximately 75% of card transactions on the Polish internet.
The company is noted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange from 2006. The company has a share capital of 9.6 mln PLN and acts as a clearing and settlements agent according to the Polish Law.

Cooperation agreement with Arcot International Inc.
December 2005 Arcot International Inc. – the company that co-created the 3D Secure protocol with Visa International, signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with eCard S.A. for the provision of 3D Secure services to card issuing banks in Poland.
1st place in Poland in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50-Rising Stars
October 2005 eCard S.A. was awarded the first prize in Deloitte & Touche’s Technology Fast-50 Rising Stars ranking for Poland, and the second prize in Central and Eastern Europe.
ePrzelewy (ePayments) – a new service from eCard S.A.
June 2005 eCard S.A. launched its new service – ePrzelewy – on June 20, 2005. The service allows clients to accept ePayments from the clients of 7 Polish banks.
American Express cards processed by eCard S.A.
November 2004 eCard was chosen to be American Express’s on-line payments processor in Poland and the company now authorizes payments made with American Express cards on the internet.
eCard S.A. awarded the silver "Rock Award 2003"
March 2004 eCard S.A. was awarded the silver "Rock Award 2003" for Central and Eastern Europe by MasterCard International.
eCard S.A. and Xtrade S.A. sign a cooperation agreement
September 2003 eCard S.A. signed a cooperation agreement with Xtrade S.A. – creator of the B2B electronic trade platform. The agreement covers the offering, promotion, sales and maintenance of Xtrade’s electronic trade services and platform.
MasterCard SecureCode implementation at eCard S.A.
August 2003 eCard S.A. implemented MasterCard SecureCode, which is now available to all of its merchants.
3D Secure implementation at eCard S.A.
May 2003 eCard S.A. was the first to implement the Visa 3D Secure system (Verified by Visa) in Poland. The system is now available to all merchants of eCard S.A.
Beginning of operations
October 2000 eCard S.A. signed its first contract with an internet merchant.
